Upon completing your fall semester as a full-time students on the College of Charleston campus you will earn a full semester of credit toward your College of Charleston degree during your spring semester abroad, enrolling in 15 credits while studying at Franklin University Switzerland. The HSS Fellows’ Program offers a rigorous educational experience in a two distinct academic structures in one academic year! You will be introduced to many aspects and nuances of the cultures and academics in which you live both in fall and spring. This is a unique preparation for life and professional careers; students studying abroad note their increased level of independence and greater perspective that help guide the rest of their academic experience, and often, career choices. While engaged in the HSS Fellows’ Program you will take time to reflect on these experiences through a dedicated weekly learning experience led by a Study Abroad Mentor – an upper division CofC student studying alongside you. These weekly seminar style events will require you to document and analyze your experiences throughout the academic year making connections between cultural and personal development over the course of the program.
