Program Calendars

We prefer that Charleston Bridge students live on campus, however, due to high demand for campus housing this year, students have the option to live off campus this fall. The request to cancel campus housing must be completed by May 22, 2023. 

If a student chooses to commute from home or live off campus this fall, they will need to cancel the housing application with Campus Housing. The $50.00 housing application fee will be credited to the fall bill. To cancel the housing application, the student should login to the College of Charleston MyPortal and click the Cancel Application button on the homepage of the MyHousing/Dining portal and follow the prompts

Please note that if a student lives off campus during the fall and is admitted to College of Charleston for the spring, there is no guarantee that there will be an open space to reside on campus in the spring. 

Charleston Bridge students choosing to live on campus will reside in Charleston Bridge designated residence halls (Berry, Liberty or McConnell hall) on the College of Charleston campus and purchase a freshman meal plan for the fall semester. Students will be matched with roommates also participating in the Charleston Bridge program. Students will continue to reside on campus if they are admitted to College of Charleston in the spring. The Housing Contract is a binding contract for the entire academic year (two semesters) from August to May. 

Admitted students may request a room change or hall change for the spring semester if there are any open beds available. Changing rooms or moving to a different hall in the spring may not be possible if there are no open bed spaces. 

Important  Charleston Bridge Dates (Fall 2023):

  • Feb-May, 2023 - Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA). List Trident Technical College (TTC) and College of Charleston (CofC) on the FAFSA. TTC may ask for additional documentation - submit all financial aid information required by Trident Technical College if applicable.
  • May 1, 2023 - Deadline to pay the tuition deposit and housing application fee to College of Charleston. This secures your spot in Charleston Bridge. These fees are nonrefundable.
  • May 1, 2023 - Deadline to apply for campus housing & a meal plan. Login to the College of Charleston MyPortal to complete this process. 
  • May 1, 2023 - Deadline to register for Charleston Bridge Orientation. Check your CofC email for instructions. Email the College of Charleston Office of New Student Programs at orientat@cofc.edu if you have questions. 
  • May 1, 2023 - If applicable, request accommodations for a learning disability or service animal request in the residence hall. Provide documentation to Trident Technical College's Services for Students with Disabilities (SSD)  
  • June, 2023 - Register for fall classes with a TTC advisor before Orientation. Students will be contacted by phone to complete course registration. 
  • June 15, 2023 - Submit a photo for an official College of Charleston ID card, known as the Cougar Card. Follow the photo submission guidelines. Student's may pick up ID cards during Orientation.
  • June 15, 2023 - Before Orientation, complete and upload the health and immunization forms required by Student Health Services. The forms are found at http://studenthealth.cofc.edu/health-immunization-forms/index.php. The forms are required before a student can move into a residence hall.  
  • June 28, 2023 - Attend the Trident Technical College (TTC) virtual Orientation. The event begins at 10:00a.m. Check your TTC email for the event link.
  • June 30, 2023 - Attend the Charleston Bridge Orientation held at the College of Charleston campus. Student attendance is required at this event. Parents are welcome. Register for this event by May 1. 
  • July, 2023 - All transcripts are due. A final high school transcript and transcript(s) from any college level coursework completed elsewhere to the College of Charleston Office of Admissions and Trident Technical College. The transcript is required to complete your admission to the program. 
  • August 1, 2023 - Deadline to pay Fall tuition or establish a payment plan with Trident Technical College. The fall tuition including the program fee, the fee for a semester in the residence hall and the fall semester meal plan are paid to Trident Technical College. Fall classes will be dropped and the offer to participate rescinded if there is no payment activity by the deadline.
  • August 18-20, 2023 - Residence hall move in at College of Charleston. Move-in appointment times are required. Information will be sent to the student's CofC email. Direct questions to housing@cofc.edu. 
  • August 21, 2023 - Attend the College of Charleston New Student Convocation. Check the CofC email for convocation instructions. 
  • August 22, 2023 - Fall classes begin on the College of Charleston campus. 
  • August 28 - October 9, 2023 - All students are required to attend their Student Success Seminar and complete the weekly assignments in OAKS. There are seven Charleston Bridge Student Success Seminars meetings scheduled on Mondays from 5:30-6:20pm. Check CofC email for classroom location and updates from the seminar instructor and peer mentor.  

Charleston Bridge Academic Calendar Fall 2023:

The Charleston Bridge academic calendar and final exam schedule differs from the College of Charleston academic calendar and final exam schedule. The spring course registration date for Charleston Bridge also differs from the College of Charleston spring registration dates.
